Cosy Up This Autumn with Skinny Syrups

Cosy Up This Autumn with Skinny Syrups - theskinnyfoodco

Summer has been a blast - we’ve enjoyed everything from family BBQs and countryside picnics to our very own Skinny Olympics event!

But as we begin to feel the first hint of crisp autumnal air, we’re starting to crave the comforting flavours of autumn

If you’re watching your calorie intake, following a low-sugar diet, or managing a health condition like diabetes, traditional autumnal treats like pumpkin pie, hot chocolate, and barista-style coffees may seem off-limits.

Luckily, the Skinny Food Co.’s autumn collection is on hand to help you indulge in all the best seasonal flavours without compromising your diet goals. Read on to discover some of our favourite autumn treats and recipes.

Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Our zero-calorie Pumpkin Spice Barista Syrup is at the heart of our autumn product line.

This delicious, guilt-free syrup combines buttery pumpkin flavours with warming spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

Pumpkin Spice syrup can be added to hot drinks like tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. It makes an incredible addition to lattés, bringing that tempting pumpkin spice flavour without the sugar overload you find in high-street versions. (Did you know a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks contains 266 calories, 9.4 grams of fat, and 32.9 grams of sugar?)

Our syrup can also be added to your favourite low-calorie baked treats, such as pumpkin pie, cookies, or this Pumpkin Spiced Loaf recipe

If you prefer cold drinks, this syrup is a tasty addition to iced coffees. Why not try our Halloween-themed Spooky Iced Pumpkin Spice Coffee

You only need 2 tsp coffee granules, water, 10 ml Pumpkin Spice Syrup, 200 ml almond milk, 12.5g light squirty cream, and some ice.

  • Boil the kettle with just enough water to dissolve the coffee granules
  • Add the Pumpkin Spice syrup, a little cold water, milk, and a handful of ice
  • Top your drink with squirty cream - delicious!

Bonfire Toffee Syrup

Another favourite in our autumn lineup is the Bonfire Toffee Syrup. This zero-sugar option brings the rich, caramelised flavours of bonfire toffee to your favourite hot drinks and cakes.

It’s perfect if you want to make indulgent hot chocolates or toffee-flavoured lattes with a low-calorie count.

Our Toffee Apple Baked Crumpets recipe combines this syrup with soft apples and our low-sugar Toffee Chocaholic Spread for a quick and easy treat. We love this for a decadent dessert or weekend breakfast.

You just need two crumpets, a small apple, an egg, 50 ml milk, 10 ml Bonfire Toffee Syrup, 20 ml Butterscotch Syrup, and 20g of Toffee Chocaholic Spread

  • Core and dice the apple into small chunks, then pop it in the microwave for a minute to soften it.
  • Use scissors to cut the crumpets into bite-sized pieces, then layer them into an oven-proof dish.
  • Sprinkle the chopped apple on top of the crumpets.
  • In a jug, beat the egg, add the milk and Bonfire Toffee syrup, and whisk it together.
  • Pour this mixture over the crumpets and apple, then put them in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  • Melt the Toffee Chocaholic Spread in the microwave for a few seconds, then drizzle this and the Butterscotch syrup over the crumpets.

Both the Pumpkin Spice and Bonfire Toffee syrups are gluten-free, fat-free, vegan, and sugar-free, so they’re suitable for a wide range of dietary needs, including ketogenic diets, coeliac disease, or anyone who wants to reduce their overall calorie intake.
