Halloween Apple & Strawberry Mummy Pie


An incredible easy Halloween recipe that you are going to LOVE! This is such an easy pie to make using light puff pastry but the star of the show has to be our 93% less sugar Strawberry Jam! Using our low sugar jam for the filling makes this whole recipe a total low sugar treat and tastes incredible too! Fill with fresh apple and have fun wrapping the pastry to make it look like Mummy bandages, finishing off with some spooky Mummy eyes! You will love this one!

What you will need:

How to make:

1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees fan and line a baking tray with baking paper

2. Place your pastry sheet onto the baking tray and with the short edge facing you, spread the jam evenly down the middle of the pastry, about 10cm wide, leaving a 2cm gap at the top and bottom

3. Now arrange your apple slices on top of the jam in an even thin layer

4. Using a knife, lightly mark a 1cm border around the jam and cut the pastry edges into 1cm wide strips (doesn't need to be too even) from the line outwards to the edge of the pastry

5. Now fold each strip of pastry over the middle of the jam and apple, starting from the top to the bottom, folding straight and diagonal until it looks like Mummy bandages and chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes

6. Once chilled, transfer to another baking tray (you don't want to use the cold one it's been on), brush the pastry with the beaten egg and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top 

7. Allow the pie to cool down before adding on your mini icing eyes into the gaps between the pastry

8. Cut into 8 slices, serve and enjoy!
