With some clever ingredient swaps, you can enjoy a delicious meal that’s both special and mindful of your nutritional needs and preferences, whether you’re diabetic, following a keto diet or trying to reduce your sugar intake.

Our zero-calorie sauces and syrups will help you maintain the luxury feel of a Valentine’s feast while reducing your overall calorie and sugar consumption.

Read on to discover The Skinny Food Co.’s Valentine’s Day Menu.

Valentine's Day meal ideas

Starter: Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup

Why not kick off the evening with this velvety soup?

Naturally sweet without added sugars, the roasted red peppers and tomatoes provide a beautiful red colour (perfect for Valentine’s Day!) whilst delivering plenty of antioxidants.

Add a drizzle of our zero-calorie Garlic Mayo to create an elegant swirl on top, adding creaminess without the guilt. Serve with crusty high-protein baguettes.

Main Course: Herb Crusted Salmon with Cauliflower Risotto

Rich in Omega-3, salmon is naturally lean whilst feeling luxurious. And instead of traditional risotto, create a low-carb version using cauliflower rice. We love this recipe by Sum of Yum.

To make it extra tasty, stir some garlic and herb sauce through at the end.

This dish pairs well with roasted asparagus spears (known as a natural aphrodisiac!)

Add a light drizzle of our Skinny French Dressing for extra sophistication without the sugar content of traditional dressings and sauces.

Dessert: Berry Love Parfait

Layer sugar-free berry compete (made using fresh berries and our sugar-free strawberry syrup) with high-protein Greek yoghurt and crushed sugar-free meringues.

Serve in a fancy glass, topped with fresh raspberries and chocolate shavings.

Cocktail: Love Potion

To make this low-sugar cocktail, you’ll need:

  1. Grab a large cocktail glass and add three parts of the cocktail mixer to one part of vodka.
  2. Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice, then top up your glass with prosecco.
  3. Garnish your drink with a fresh raspberry and a mint leaf.

Set the mood by dimming the lights and lighting some unscented candles. Use smaller plates to support portion control, and consider serving each course with a break in between to help with mindful eating.

If you want to get ahead, try preparing the soup the day before and reheating it. You could also make the berry compote for dessert the day before, which will help to enhance the flavour.

Best of all, you’ll have more time to focus on your dinner date and less time in the kitchen on Valentine’s night!

Our menu proves you can create a memorable Valentine’s Day while staying on track with your diet goals - so you can wake up on 15th February feeling just as good as you did the night before!
