5 Homemade Halloween Treats The Kids Will Love

It's officially spooky season! An exciting time of year for the little ones to enjoy, dressing up, trick or treating and baking some delicious Halloween treats.

Here, we have included 5 super easy homemade Halloween goodies the kids will love!

Marshmallow Ghosts

These spooky little biscuits are rather cute and perfect for those who scare a little more easily!

We use our low sugar White Chocolate Chocaholic Spread to create these little ghost friends and the recipe is super easy to follow .

Cheesy Pastry Snakes

Next up, we have some ssssslippery, ssssslimey pastries that’ll go down a treat with the kids.

Ingredients

  • The Skinny Food Co High Protein Vegan Shaker
  • Flour for dusting
  • 1 Ready To Roll Low Fat Puff Pastry Sheet
  • The Skinny Food Co Vegan Egg Replacer
  • Peppercorns

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees fan.
  2. Roll out your ready to roll puff pastry sheet. Sprinkle our High Protein Vegan Shaker all over the sheet of pastry. Then, fold your pastry sheet in half.
  3. Dust some plain flour over your work surface before placing your halved pastry sheet on top. Using a rolling pin, roll it out until you have a rectangular shape. 
  4. With a pizza cutter, you want to slice the pastry street into thin strips. Then, delicately take each strip and twist them several times before adding them to your baking tray. Once on the tray, you want to place them in a snake-like position. 
  5. Using our Vegan Egg Replacer mixed with water, you want to brush it on all of the snakes. Finish off with another sprinkling of our High Protein Vegan Shaker and adding larger peppercorns to the snakes as eyes and smaller ones all over for extra taste.
  6. Cook the snake for 15 minutes and you’ll be left with deliciousssss golden, vegan-friendly pastries.

Banana Ghosts

These Bananas Ghosts are super spooky but most important super delicious! Using our White Chocaholic Spread, these Halloween themed treats are easy to make from home following our simple recipe.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Peel the bananas, and chop off one of the ends on all. Then, put the remaining ends on the wooden skewers, before slathering our Low Sugar Chocolate Spread all over.
  2. Holding the stick, roll the chocolatey bananas in the desiccated coconut until fully covered.
  3. Lastly, add the eyes & chocolate chips for mouths and there you have it, banana ghosts!

Squeamish Chocolate Squares

These sticky and crunchy Halloween chocolate squares will be an absolute hit at any Halloween party!

We've made them much lower in sugar using our 92% less sugar Chocolate Hazelnut and White Chocolate Chocaholic Spreads and have topped them with some gooey sticky jelly snakes bugs to make them super squeamish!

Mummy Cookies

These spooky Mummy cookies are a Halloween MUST this year!

Ingredients 

Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees fan.
  2. Add our Low Sugar Cookie Mix, 45ml of water & 25ml of oil to a mixing bowl before folding in until blended well.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls before flattening on your baking tray- you will be able to make 9 cookies out of our Low Sugar Cookie Mix.
  4. Put in the oven for 12-13 minutes.
  5. Once out of the oven and slightly cool, zap some of our Low Sugar White Chocolate Spread in the microwave for 30 seconds while in a microwave-safe dish. 
  6. Once melted, pour into a piping bag. Then, you want to drizzle the chocolate sauce all over the cookies in a mummy-like fashion as you can see in the video.
  7. Add your eyes and voila! Mummy cookies.
