The Skinny Olympics!
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are over after 16 action-packed days which saw Team Great Britain return home with 65 medals.
In the meantime, we’ve been busy hosting our very own sporting event - the Skinny Olympics! The Skinny Olympic Games combined physical activity, team building, and humour to create a memorable experience for everyone who participated.
In fact, it left us all sweating and laughing in equal measure!

One highlight was the 50-metre hurdle dash, which saw the team navigating obstacles (Skinny Food Co. boxes!) showcasing varying degrees of agility and grace.
Our Creative Manager, Barry, took the gold medal, setting a new world record of just 2.26 seconds, while Creative Designer Santa came second, completing the challenge in just 3.14 seconds.
The 50-metre relay race was another fun challenge. This event saw the team sprinting along the track and passing an improvised baton (a can of Skinny coffee!) It really was a caffeine-fuelled race…
But the real star of the Skinny Olympics was Keira, our Business Development Executive. She embraced the spirit of this year’s Olympic Games by dressing up as a croissant, adding Parisian panache to every activity (although she was a little flaky under pressure!)
There’s no doubt that everyone had fun competing in the Skinny Olympics, but it was about more than just competition. The Skinny Olympics gave us the chance to work on our team skills and take a break from the daily work routine. And with many of us leading sedentary lifestyles, events like this remind us of the benefits of staying active.
Regular physical exercise offers many health benefits. It can help you lose weight, lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, strengthen your bones and muscles, and improve your mental health.
Spending time outdoors also has many advantages. Exposure to natural sunlight can help regulate your sleep and boost your vitamin D levels, while breathing in fresh air and exercising in green spaces like parks and forests could even help to reduce stress and anxiety.
Taking part in the Skinny Olympics reminded us that being active doesn’t have to be a chore. Exercising with friends or work colleagues is social, fun - and sometimes a little bit silly!
Remember, you’re not aiming to become an Olympic athlete overnight. Just making a few small changes to your everyday routine can have a positive impact on your wellbeing.
The most important thing is to find an exercise you enjoy doing. If you’re not sure where to start, take a look at the Skinny Food Co. article on free ways to exercise outside over the summer months.
