For this recipe, we're going to give three delicious options for your pancakes, but the base ingredients will stay the same

  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 25g melted butter
  • 200ml milk

 

How To Make American-Style Pancakes

Making American-style pancakes is easy and fun! Here's how to do it:

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the self-raising flour, baking powder and sugar.

2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until light and fluffy. Add the melted butter and milk and mix until combined.

3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until you have a smooth batter.

4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a knob of butter. Once melted, pour in enough batter to make one pancake.

5. Cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.

6. Repeat until all your pancakes are cooked, this should make roughly 8-10 pancakes

7. Serve with your choice of toppings from below:
