With Halloween around the corner, you may be looking to find some healthy treats to substitute for all the sugar, we've compiled a list of our favourite snack ideas to enjoy this spooky season, from sweet treats to scrumptious savoury nibbles. Let's take a look at our spooky treats!

1. Pumpkin Pie

Is it even Halloween if you don't have a Pumpkin Pie? Pumpkin pie is not only delicious, but it’s nutritious as well! While pumpkin contains many vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, B-complex, E and K, zinc and iron.  Top your pie with pumpkin seeds for artistic effect.

2. Apple Chips

Apple chips have been around for years, but their popularity increased after they were featured on the television show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” These little treats are great snacks for any time of day and taste amazing straight out of the oven.

Making apple chips is incredibly straightforward, and takes minutes. Slice a handful of green apples approx. 1/2cm, then taking your apple slices pat dry with some kitchen roll, until the majority of the moisture has been removed (you can also leave to dry for 30 minutes, however, this is not a requirement)

Sprinkle a teaspoon of ground cinnamon over your apples and bake for 30 minutes at 200c. 

Serve your apple slices with a side of caramel sauce, chocolate sauce or cinnamon swirl sauce, all low-cal & low-sugar perfect healthy snacks.

3. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are extremely popular, especially during the fall season. If you love chocolate chip cookies, then make sure you try our low-cal edible cookie dough, this can be a great movie night fun snack for kids or grown-ups, enjoy on its own or follow some of our fantastic recipe guides to make your own peanut butter cookie cups or ice cream sundaes. 

The best thing about chocolate chip cookies is that they can be styled and decorated however you'd like, whether you'd want to give them an additional Halloween spin by styling them like Jack O' Lanterns, Ghosts & Ghouls or you'd like to keep them classic by simply sprinkling mini chocolate chips within the mixture and drizzling with white chocolate spread. 

4. Cinnamon Rolls

There's nothing quite as autumnal in flavour as cinnamon, it embodies warm-cosy evenings. Cinnamon rolls are a traditional autumn dessert and can be paired with a variety of toppings to make for unique Halloween tasty treats.
