Meet Hannah
I'm Hannah Schofield; I'm 30 years old from Lincoln and I've been on a mission to change my lifestyle since 2018. What started as a turning point in how I felt about myself and my health has led to me flipping my life 180 degrees and going from unhappy at 114kg, to competing as an amateur bodybuilder at 59kg!
I never started with that intention; at 26, I had become a reflection of the lifestyle that I lead at the time - single, partying, never saying no to a drink, night out, or a meal. I went on a weekend trip to London, and on that particular weekend I genuinely struggled to be in my body; aches and pains getting around, sweating and out of breath walking, and feeling very conscious of my size on the tube. I had always felt reasonably attractive and found clothes that flattered my body at every size, so my concerns weren't generally with what I looked like but this was the first time that my weight had impacted my health noticeably and it really opened my eyes. Enough was enough.
On April 27th 2018 I began making some radical diet changes and drastically trying to improve my cv fitness with little guidance and I very quickly lost a lot of weight in a short period of time - I went from a size 20 to a size 8 in 108 days! Seeing this, my then friend Jenna Beckworth contacted me and said she wanted to help guide me in this new lifestyle I had fallen in love with. That friend is now my coach and has been for four years. We've gone from strength to strength, improving my relationship with food and going through various stages of bulking and cutting and over 4 years have seen me lose almost half my bodyweight from start, to be stage ready!
Why did you choose to use the Skinny Food Co products?
The Skinny Food products have been a life saver at every stage of this process - whether it was in the early stages of my initial weight loss to not feeling so restricted to even now whilst I'm preparing for the PCA British Finals! their zero/near zero calorie count means I can make my food more exciting, tasty and adds something different to meals that I generally keep the same whilst I diet down!
What are your favourite Skinny Food Co products?
Where do I start? I genuinely use Skinny food Products every single day! My all-time favourites are from the 'BEAST' range -for my chicken and rice meals! they're either in my bag or my desk drawer at work!
I am a huge fan of the Skinny Smokey BBQ Sauce - I think it tastes extremely similar to the McDonald's BBQ sauce (am I allowed to say that?!). Fridge staples for me on top of the above are the Skinny Ketchup, Maple Syrup for Sweet treats, and the Vanilla Non-Dairy Creamer. I use this to make oats thicker and creamier - no need to use milk when you can use the creamer to get that indulgent consistency! Not forgetting the Skinny Coffee Syrups - when I'm dieting for a show I choose to apply my calories to foods rather than drinks allowing me to stay fuller for longer, so the coffee syrups really help make a bitter black coffee a taster treat and allow me to not go without.
How has skinny food co helped you achieve your goals?
Currently whilst dieting for a competition, I eat for box ticking. I get great satisfaction knowing that all my calories are accounted for by repeating the same diet, day in day out. All my meals are the same - which you can imagine at times - needs a bit of spicing up! the Skinny Food co has really helped with that when it gets a bit boring.
What would you say to others who wish to achieve their goals?
For those wishing to lose weight and achieve their goals, I would say: the only limit to the height of your achievement is your willingness to work for it. It's a quote I absolutely stand by - no one is going to do it for you - sometimes people will actively try and have you succumb to a distraction "it's only one bite" "come on one glass won't hurt you" - If you want to achieve a goal you have to be selfish, minimise distraction and if it's not aligning with what you truly want - don't do it. It will all come together in the end.
