Before You Begin You'll Need An Electric Whisk, 3 medium-sized glass heatproof bowls, 1 medium wooden or metal spoon, and individual glasses for serving.

Method:
Step 1: Whilst a chocolate mousse can be one of the trickier desserts to perfect, we've created an easy chocolate mousse recipe that helps beginner bakers tackle their fears and master the art of the mousse. The first step is to separate the egg yolks and egg whites of your 3 large eggs, use a clear & clean bowl to keep your egg whites, keeping your yolks to one side for later use.
Step 2: Begin whisking your egg whites in a medium glass bowl using an electric whisk, do this until you begin to see soft peaks within your whites.
Step 3: Add to your mixture, the caster sugar and whisk once more until the mixture is smooth & airy.
Step 4: Placing your raw egg whites aside, in a separate mixing bowl pour in the heavy whipping cream (or double cream) and whisk.
Step 5: Once firm, bring back your egg yolk mixture, and combine with the cream, folding with a wooden spoon, once the mixture is fully combined and almost silky looking, place aside once more.
Step 6: Unlike most other chocolate mousses, our healthy alternative ditches the cocoa powder, replacing it with our chocoholic smooth bar, which is not only low in sugar & calories but also high in protein. Using 3 bars of our intensely chocolate chocaholic smooth bar, break into small cubes in a small microwaveable bowl, combine with a knob of butter and melt together.
Step 7: Combine all the mixtures, firstly mixing the sweet chocolate butter with the heavy cream, folding lightly together until completely combined. Finally, add the egg whites, and once again fold, ensuring they completely remove any lumps.
Step 8: Once your mixture has been combined, it's time to chill! Literally! begin dishing your rich chocolate dessert into bowls, glasses or ramekins of your choosing and place in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours. This will allow the mixture to set.
Step 9: Decoration time - there are a handful of ways you can perfectly decorate your airy chocolate mousse, whether that's decorating with real milk chocolate shards, chocolate shavings, coffee beans, orange zest or even some sweet strawberries.
Today we used our latest chocoholic malt balls, to add a slight crumbly crunch - we simply crushed the malt balls using the back of a knife and sprinkled them on top alongside some whipped cream

How To Fix Lumpy Chocolate Mousse?Getting the perfect delicious chocolate mousse can be tricky if you've never tried to make it before, and it can easily take a turn from smooth and silky to lumpy - this is often a sign of over whipping, simply add a few extra tablespoons of regular whipping cream in order to smooth out the mixture.
How Many Calories In Chocolate Mousse?Unfortunately, chocolate mousse is known as one of the most calorific desserts, it is also high in fat content & sugars. A standard chocolate mousse will on average contain between 500 - 800 calories per serving, due to the heavy cream & sugar contents.
