Pornstar Martini Recipe

We're continuing our cocktail-making evenings, with a classic passion fruit Martini, also known as the porn star martini, this fruity vanilla vodka cocktail is typically accompanied by a shot of prosecco and is a well-known favourite throughout many popular cocktail bars.

But first, let's take a look at the best way to make the classic pornstar martini cocktail, using fresh ingredients. 

Ingredients: Measurements per cocktail

• (50ml per cocktail) Vanilla Vodka - We love Absolut Vanilla, but Smirnoff also provides an alternative to their original recipe, with a vanilla flavouring. 
• (30ml per cocktail) Passoa - This fruity liqueur is easily mixed with a range of delicious cocktails, adding a tropical flavour, and is a great alternative to thicker fruit puree. 
• Sugar Syrup 
• 1 Lime - Juiced
• (50ml Shot) Prosecco 
• 1 whole passion fruit - cut in half 

Method: 

Put the seeds from one of your passion fruit into cocktail shakers, and add the alcohol, Passoà liqueur, lime juice and sugar syrups. Add a few cubes of ice and shake well. Strain into a martini glass,  and add half a passion fruit per glass. Serve immediately alongside your 50ml shot of prosecco. 

What is a pornstar martini? 

The name 'pornstar' comes from the fact that the drink was originally created for adult film stars who were often required to consume large amounts of alcohol on set. 

The original recipe was made with gin, which was replaced with vodka when it became more readily available. 

Vodka is now the most commonly used spirit in the world, so if you want to recreate this classic cocktail, use any quality vodka or Absolut Vanilla.
