Roasted Buckwheat, also commonly known as Kasha is the roasted form of buckwheat, which is not wheat, but is instead related rhubarb. Kasha can be added to a variety of recipes, and can even be made into a porridge. Kasha is easy to cook, simply boil for 10-15 minutes which allows the roasted buckwheat to swell and soften. Once cooked it can be added to salads, or used as an alternative to rice or couscous.
