Success Stories with The Skinny Food Co: EP 38 Joanne
My name is Joanne, and I have experienced issues with my weight since high school. During my time in high school I was bullied and as a result, became anorexic. Suffering from an eating disorder throughout my pre-pubescent and early adult life, it wasn’t until I fell pregnant with my first child did I realise I needed to make a change. I wanted to ensure that I could give my baby the best start in life, with a healthy home & healthy family.
After giving birth, I had a number of health complications, having 3 separate hernia operations, I struggled with exercise and postpartum weight loss. I found it very difficult to deal with my weight fluctuation and needed to find a healthy balance.
Why did you choose to use the Skinny Food Co products?
After realising that I needed to change my lifestyle, I knew one of my biggest challenges was going to be overcoming my relationship with food. I needed to find food that I could fall in love with.
After suffering from an eating disorder, I spent many years having a negative relationship with food and found it hard to enjoy meals.
That’s when I stumbled across The Skinny Food Co, I fell in love instantly. All of the products taste good, as good as the real deal, and it inspired me as I didn’t feel like I was on a strict diet, or that I was limiting myself from tasty meals.
What are your favourite Skinny Food Co products?
There are so many! But ultimately, If I had to choose a favourite it would be the snack pot range - I think they’re genius, typically in shops low cal or healthy snacks are either really small portions or really boring options.
I definitely have a sweet tooth, and I love being able to have a guilt-free chocolaty snack, I can’t decide whether or not the milk chocolate or the salted caramel pots is my favourite, but I’ve tried them all and they’re all absolutely delicious.
How has skinny food co helped you achieve your goals?
Discovering The Skinny Food Co definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities of healthy, but tasty foods. I’m no longer obsessive with avoiding all things chocolaty or sweet, but I’m also no longer tracking calories. Overall, I think I have a much healthier relationship with food now.
What would you say to others who wish to achieve their goals?
I think losing weight and being healthy are two very different concepts, I think for me finding the perfect balance was key. It’s important not to restrict yourself from things you love, and enjoy your favourite foods. If you’re looking to achieve your goals, I would never recommend strict diets, swap to alternatives, or look at ways that you can substitute for healthier alternatives, just use The Skinny Food Co!
