Snack In The Spotlight - Raw Carrot Fruity Balls.

Raw carrot. Yup. We know it sounds unusual but carrot is actually a fabulous food that’s used to flavour all sorts of sweet treats and drinks, as well as savoury foods. If you’ve tried carrot cake you’ll know just how yummy a few lashings of carrot can be. And that’s why we’ve used them in our raw carrot fruity #notguilty balls.

Carrots are rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre and they also contain antioxidants. They can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer, which makes them a pretty powerful vegetable indeed.

Each pack contains five balls, and here’s the best bit - each ball is only 22 calories. #winning.

We’re looking a little deeper into some of our most popular Skinny Food snacks to see what makes them stand out. So lets put our raw carrot fruity balls under the microscope….

Gluten free, 100% vegan snack

Here’s a trusty snack for the vegans out there. These raw balls contain no nasties, just raw ingredients. Each ball is carefully crafted from ingredients including dried raisins, dried dates, carrot, coconut and sunflower [nb the packet just says ‘sunflower’ - is this seeds/oil?]. That’s it. All the goodness, none of the bad stuff.

Oh, and they are also non-GMO and gluten-free. Stock up on some raw carrot balls and use them as a healthy snack when you need a boost. They’ll satisfy those hunger pangs as well as your sweet tooth so you don’t reach for unhealthy sweet treats.

So, what do they taste like exactly?

As you bite into one of these raw balls, you’ll taste the sweet fruity goodness. It’s like a little fruit explosion in your mouth. The carrot taste is very subtle. They’re quite hard when you hold them in your hand but they crumble perfectly as you crunch them in your mouth. It turns out carrot tastes oh so good when combined with dried fruit and coconut.

A Sugarwise certified product

You may be wondering what we mean by this. Well, ‘sugarwise’ is essentially a certification.

The Sugarwise criteria outlines a number of certification classes that a product must follow to advertise within the European Union. This snack is free from added sugars. So if you’re looking to cut down on sugar, it’s always best to opt for products that are 100% free from added sugar.

All the flavour, none of the guilt

It’s reassuring when you find a snack you can have that’s low calorie and free of any nasties. You can rest assured that each ball is only 22 calories, and you know exactly what you’re eating. We’ve got a whole range of healthy snacks, so if carrot isn’t your thing, check out some of our other flavours including cacao and peanut.

An ideal snack on the go

In a hurry? No worries. Our carefully packed #notguilty balls are easy to take with you. Plus, they come in a resealable pouch, so you can save some for later. They’re great as a snack to tide you over in between meals or for when you just need a bite to eat. But don’t just take our word for it, buy them online today and try them for yourself.
