Home-Made Pakora Potato Slices | theskinnyfoodco

Want to get more creative with your lunch? Try these home-made potato slices. They’re a twist on a traditional pakora and uses our Garam Masala and Curry Tandoori spices to give your side dish the perfect flavour.

The best part is they only take 10 minutes to make! This delicious fried snack is AMAZING teamed with a spicy chutney and cooling raita dip.

Ingredients:

-4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
-3 tbsp of gram flour
-Handful of fresh coriander.
-100ml of water, for the batter
-1tsp Curry Tandoori spice mix
-1tsp Garam Masala spice mix
-1/2 tspsalt
-1/2 tsp cumin powder
-1/2 tsp coriander powder
-1/2 tsp turmeric
-1/2 tsp chilli powder.
-Oil to shallow fry

Method:

 

  • Wash the potatoes before slicing into thin rounds.
  • Mix the spices and gram flour in a bowl before gradually add water to form a thick paste.
  • Add the potatoes into the bowl and coat well in the batter-like mixture.
  • Heat the oil in two batches and add the coated potatoes. Fry until golden brown and turning on both sides.
  • Drain on a plate with paper to catch excess oil. Be careful, this will be very hot!
  • Serve with some delicious spicy chutney, the fresh coriander and cooling raita dip. All that’s left to do now is eat and enjoy…
