BLOG - THREE DELICIOUS HEALTHY SMOOTHIE RECIPES

Three Delicious Healthy Smoothie Recipes

 

Here at the Skinny Food Co, we understand that sometimes we may fall victim to binging on unhealthy snacks and meals when we’re on the go. Life gets busy, and we don’t always have time to rustle up super healthy meals and snacks. So, instead of reaching for the biscuit tin to satisfy your hunger, why not blitz up a nutrient-packed smoothie?

In our latest blog post, we’re sharing 3 of our favourite recipes to be enjoyed no matter the time of day, and we’ve even snuck our super satisfying #NotGuilty syrups, so you can add some extra flavour to your favourite smoothie minus the additional calories, fat and sugar.  

 

  1. Chocolate avo blend

First up, is an indulgent treat minus the guilt. Our chocolate and avocado blend. Before you dismiss this combination, just trust us and give it a try. It’s seriously good.

 

Ingredients:

250ml of skimmed milk or dairy-free alternative

Half an avocado

2 tablespoons of our #NotGuilty chocolate skinny syrup

2 teaspoons of low-calorie drinking chocolate

1 sweetener/stevia

Method:

Slice up the avocado into chunks and throw all the ingredients into the blender and blitz until you achieve a smooth consistency. The avocado creates a creamy taste whilst the sweetener balances out the flavours so that you can enjoy a totally indulgent treat good enough to rival your favourite chocolate milkshake minus the guilt.

 

  1. White choc, berries and banana

Our next recipe is the perfect start to the day, or an afternoon pick me up. If you love bananas and chocolate, you’ll love our white chocolate, berries and banana blend.

Ingredients:  

250ml of skimmed milk or dairy-free alternative

1 banana

1 handful of raspberries

2 tablespoons of our #NotGuilty white chocolate skinny syrup

You can also add protein powder or a meal replacement powder, just add an additional 50ml of milk or dairy-free alternative for a good consistency.

Method:

Chop up the banana, and throw all of the ingredients into your blender and blitz until smooth. Serve over ice or into a chilled glass for a super tasty, energising start to the day.

  1. Superfood smoothie blend

Last but certainly not least, is our superfood blend. Perfect as breakfast or post work out refresher because it’s packed for of goodness, natural sugars and healthy fats that will leave you feeling full for hours.

 

Ingredients:

300ml of skimmed milk or dairy-free alternative

1 handful of spinach leaves

1 handful of frozen mango cubes

Half an avocado

2 ice cubes

Method:

Chuck all of the ingredients into the blender and blend until a smooth consistency ensuring there are no lumps (no matter how much you love avo, these ingredients work best when they are all mingled together nicely) before serving in a chilled glass for a super tasty smoothie that is packed full of all things nice to avoid those sugar slumps later in the day.
